Government studying Europe's experience of traveling amid pandemic

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is studying the experience of European countries to ensure that Ukrainian citizens can travel freely to other countries during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are actively watching what actions European countries are taking in this direction. We study what data they collect and how they use it to trigger a new development of tourism and more. We will then use this learned experience in Ukraine in the appropriate format so that citizens, despite the pandemic, can travel freely and safely around the world," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said at an online meeting on mechanisms to ensure that Ukrainian citizens can travel freely to other countries during the pandemic, the Government portal informs.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, Deputy Minister of Health - Chief State Sanitary Doctor Viktor Liashko.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister commissioned Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to discuss and analyze all the details of cooperation in this matter with international partners.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine is technically prepared to join such work and take an active part in developing and testing such mechanisms.

In addition, the meeting’s participants discussed issues of applying for vaccination and joining a COVID-19 vaccination waiting list.

As reported, Ukraine joined the creation of the International Pandemic Treaty.
