On February 1, 2021, Ukrainian Radio First Channel resumed broadcasting in the medium-wave range, including in the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy, this became possible due to the fact that the National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine received full funding in 2021.
"A medium-wave transmitter of Ukrainian Radio with a capacity of 500 kW in the village of Luch, Mykolaiv region, covers most of the territory of Ukraine (60% of the territory including the occupied territories during the day, and the entire territory of Ukraine from evening to morning)," the statement reads.
According to the ministry, UA: Ukrainian Radio is the most popular talk radio and the largest FM network in Ukraine, covering more than 180 FM frequencies.
