Dubai Airport starts using ‘Kyiv’ instead of ‘Kiev’

Ukrinform
Dubai International Airport has started using the correct name for the Ukrainian capital in Latin – "Kyiv" instead of "Kiev."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine wrote about this on its Facebook page.

“Dubai International Airport has officially corrected the spelling of our capital and now uses the only correct transliteration - Kyiv! Therefore, we can state that the #CorrectUA campaign is a step closer to the goal,” reads the report.

As reported by Ukrinform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine initiated the online campaign #CorrectUA that was launched in October 2018.

The ministry calls on foreign official institutions and commercial companies to abandon using spelling of Ukrainian cities derived from the Russian language and replacing them with the correct ones.
