Kyiv confirms 821 new COVID-19 cases

Kyiv city has recorded 821 new coronavirus cases in the past day, bringing the total number to 121,903, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

"Some 821 coronavirus patients were registered in Kyiv over the past day. Fourteen people died. In total, the coronavirus has claimed the lives of 2,175 Kyiv residents," Klitschko wrote on his Facebook page.

Among people who have contracted COVID-19 in Kyiv in the past day are 484 women aged 18-99 years; 10 girls aged 1-17 years; 316 men aged 18-85 years; and 11 boys aged between five months and 17 years.

Also, 29 health workers fell ill with COVID-19 over the past day.

Some 935 people have recovered in Kyiv over the course of the past day. In total, 47,284 Kyiv residents have overcome the disease.

As of January 16, Ukraine reported 1,154,692 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 7,729 new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
