Health Ministry names regions with highest incidence of COVID-19 cases

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kyiv regions and the city of Kyiv, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on January 6.

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Zaporizhzhia region amounted to 431.3 per 100,000 people, in Mykolaiv region – 422.2, in Cherkasy region – 405.1, in Kyiv region – 385.7, and in the city of Kyiv – 392.5.

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 264.8 per 100,000 people.

The lowest incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days was recorded in Kirovohrad region (76.9 per 100,000 people), in Ivano-Frankivsk region (115.2), and in Zakarpattia region (102.6).

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 34.9% as of January 5.

The highest level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (49.9%).

As reported by Ukrinform, a total of 1,090,496 coronavirus cases were recorded in Ukraine on January 6, including 6, 911 new COVID-19 cases registered in the past 24 hours.
