Highest incidence of coronavirus cases recorded in Kyiv city, Cherkasy and Zaporizhzhia regions

The highest incidence rate of COVID-19 in Ukraine was recorded in Kyiv city, Cherkasy and Zaporizhzhia regions, according to data provided by the Health Ministry on December 21.

In particular, the incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days in Kyiv city amounted to 667.4 per 100,000 people, in Cherkasy region - 655.3, and in Zaporizhzhia region – 646.

The high incidence rate of COVID-19 in the past 14 days was also recorded in Chernihiv region (587.5), Kyiv region (539.3), Odesa region (538.3), Mykolaiv region (500.9), and Sumy region (477.6).

An average incidence rate across Ukraine is 391.3 per 100,000 people.

The bed occupancy rate at COVID-19 designated hospitals across the country in the past five days amounted to 40.9% as of December 20. In Kyiv city, this figure amounted to 48.7%.

The high level of bed occupancy rate was recorded in Mykolaiv region (68.2%) and Odesa region (52.5%).

As reported by Ukrinform, on December 21, a total of 970,993 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 6,545 new cases reported in the past 24 hours.
