NSDC Staff begins cooperation with Ukrainian Red Cross

The Staff of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, together with the Presidential Commissioner for Volunteer Affairs, is launching joint coordination with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

According to the NSDC's press service, the purpose of such cooperation is to consolidate joint efforts aimed at protecting national security, implement measures directed at ensuring human rights and fundamental freedoms, providing timely assistance to those who need it, as well as conducting awareness-raising work with the population to enhance knowledge about actions in case of threat to life and health.

"The Red Cross, as the country's largest humanitarian organization, does not stay aside and supports those in need in all possible ways. Joint coordination with the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for Volunteer Affairs and the NSDC Staff will provide new opportunities to help the most vulnerable groups affected by armed conflict, pandemics or natural disasters," Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society Maksym Dotsenko said.

In addition, one of the important activities of the Ukrainian Red Cross of Ukraine is to assist public medical institutions in overcoming coronavirus infection. In particular, it provides medical institutions with equipment and personal protective equipment, which is essential for the protection of doctors who are at the forefront fight against COVID-19.
