Minister Tkachenko to submit proposals on supporting culture industry during quarantine

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine is planning to submit proposals to the government for assistance in supporting the industries of culture, tourism and entrepreneurs in the creative industries affected by quarantine restrictions.

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko wrote about this on Facebook, following a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and industry representatives, Ukrinform reports.

"We agreed to develop a plan of assistance for short-term (urgent) measures, proposals from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy… We are also working on medium-term and long-term [measures], which we will present in the near future," Tkachenko wrote.

The minister noted that among participants of the meeting were Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, development partners and key players in the field of culture, tourism and entrepreneurs of creative industries.

“We discussed that the state of affairs and proposals for further steps. I thank Denys Shmyhal for his willingness to listen and provide support, and all the participants for their constructive decisions,” Tkachenko wrote.
