Five schools in Kyiv city remain closed for quarantine due to confirmed coronavirus cases among teachers, the official portal of Kyiv city reports referring to acting First Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Valentyn Mondryivskyi.

“Apart from five schools, 12 kindergartens and 157 groups in 140 kindergartens have been shut down due to the coronavirus," Mondryivskyi said.

In addition, 355 classes from 135 schools in Kyiv are staying home.

At the same time, according to Mondryivskyi, the practice has shown that the closure of schools for quarantine does not give the needed result in the fight against coronavirus.

As of November 10, 479,197 COVID-19 cases were laboratory confirmed in Ukraine, including 10,179 cases recorded during the previous day.
