Ukraine records increase in COVID-19 cases over past week – Stepanov

Ukraine has recorded 53,270 coronavirus cases over the last week, according to Health Minister Maksym Stepanov.

"A total of 53,270 coronavirus cases have been confirmed over the last week. There were 45,286 cases recorded in the previous week. Thus, the weekly number of cases grew by almost 8,000, comparing week to week,” Stepanov said at a press briefing on November 2, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In addition, the number of hospitalizations rose to 7,248 over the last seven days compared to 6,545 hospitalizations in the previous seven days.

According to the health minister, last week Ukraine conducted 283,494 PCR tests, comparing with 238,404 tests performed in the previous week.

As reported, Ukraine confirmed a total of 402,194 cases of COVID-19 on November 2, including 6,754 cases reported during the previous day.
