Health Minister Stepanov said that Ukrainian doctors would receive higher salaries as soon as late September. He noted that the National Health Service is signing contracts with 1,600 hospitals, and agreements have already been signed with a third of the health institutions.
He also noted that additional UAH 6 billion have been allocated to raise doctors’ salaries this year.
President Zelensky, in turn, called for the health minister to regulate some issues, in particular, why UAH 100 million in budget funds allocated for the purchase of ventilators have not yet been spent. In addition, out of UAH 2.9 billion allocated for health ministry’s laboratories and the purchase of personal protective equipment only UAH 514 million was used.
Moreover, according to the president, no equipment has been purchased for the ER departments of hub hospitals so far, although UAH 5.3 billion has been allocated from the budget.
