EU Ambassador to Ukraine Matti Maasikas has handed over 150,000 respirators, 170,000 face masks and 60,000 gowns to the National Police of Ukraine.

The EU Delegation to Ukraine wrote about this on its Facebook page.

"We are providing these pieces of personal protective equipment to Ukrainian police officers so that they can be safe while on duty. This delivery will significantly improve the ability of the National Police to work during a pandemic," Maasikas said.

The EU Delegation noted that personal protective equipment for employees of the National Police had been provided by the EU-funded project PRAVO Police.

As reported, as of July 16, Ukraine's total cases of COVID-19 reached 56,455, including 848 new cases confirmed in the previous day.
