Ukraine plans to open 137 new schools by year-end
Ukrainian Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Chernyshov said this at a briefing on May 15, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“We are currently building, repairing or overhauling 137 schools. Since the school year begins on September 1, the vast majority of schools should open on September 1. If it is technically impossible, we will open them in the fourth quarter of this year," Chernyshov said.
He noted that the Ministry wanted all schools to be open by September 1.
According to Chernyshov, as part of the Great Construction project, 375 social infrastructure facilities will be built or repaired in Ukraine, including 137 schools, 116 kindergartens and 122 sports facilities.
As Ukrinform reported, on March 1, 2020, construction works within 300 social infrastructure facilities began in Ukraine as part of the Great Construction project.
