Health Ministry supports law on additional guarantees for health workers

"The Health Ministry always supports any initiatives aimed at protecting our health workers, our doctors, and all medical staff in general. We also support raising social standards, providing work, and insurance. We just need to determine the source of coverage for all these things. And as to some provisions of the law, much has been already introduced,” Health Minister Maksym Stepanov said at a briefing on May 12, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

According to Stepanov, the Health Ministry has already introduced testing of medical workers who work with patients with coronavirus. Testing of the National Police and National Guard employees for the coronavirus was also introduced.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 7, the Verkhovna Rada passed the Law “On Amendments to Article 39 of the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of the Population against Infectious Diseases” (on additional guarantees of the rights of healthcare and other workers engaged in the protection of the population against infectious diseases, as well as members of their families)”.
