Ukraine reports 550 new COVID-19 cases, bringing total to 11,411

Ukraine recorded 11,411 cases of the coronavirus COVID-19 as of May 2, Health Minister Maksym Stepanov has said.

"Over the past day, 550 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed, including 17 children and 96 healthcare workers. Some 117 people were hospitalized. Over the past day, seven people died. At the same time, 85 patients recovered," Stepanov said at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Since the start of the pandemic, 1,498 people in Ukraine have recovered from the disease, 279 people have died.

Over the past 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed coronavirus cases was recorded in Chernivtsi region (78), Dnipropetrovsk region (72), and Zakarpattia region (64), the minister added.
