More than 105 thousand people fell ill with flu and ARVI in Ukraine over past week

More than 105 thousand people fell ill with flu and acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) in Ukraine over the past week, from March 30 to April 5, according to the Public Health Centre.
"During the reporting week, 105,116 people became ill with ARVI, 39.5% of whom were children under the age of 17. Over that week, one lethal case related to the influenza was reported, which was confirmed by PCR test (71 since the start of the epidemic season); none those died had been vaccinated against the flu,” reads the report.
The incidence rate was 274.9 per 100,000 population, which is 42.3% less than the epidemic threshold in Ukraine.
