Nearly half of Ukrainians positive about Zelensky

Almost half of Ukrainians have a positive attitude to President Volodymyr Zelensky, according to a survey conducted by Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

"Volodymyr Zelensky is viewed positively by 46% of those who know the politician (48% in February), neutrally by 33% (29% in February), and negatively by 21% (24% in February)," the study shows.

According to the survey, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is viewed positively by 11% of those who know the politician, neutrally by 65%, and negatively by 25%.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov is viewed positively by 29% of those who know the politician (28% in February), neutrally by 51% (51% February), and negatively by 21% (22% February).

Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak is viewed positively by 6% of those who know the politician (12% in February), neutrally by 56% (57% in February), and negatively by 38% (31% in February).

As for Interior Minister Arsen Avakov, he is viewed positively by 12% of those who know the politician, neutrally by 53%, and negatively by 35%.

"The level of respondents' knowledge of the state leaders is the following: 99% of respondents know President Zelensky, 49% of respondents know Prime Minister Shmyhal, 70% of those surveyed know Verkhovna Rada Speaker Razumkov, 44% of respondents know Head of the Office of the President Yermak, and 88% of those polled know Interior Minister Avakov," the study shows.

The survey was conducted from March 27 to March 30, 2020 via CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviews) based on a random sampling of mobile telephone numbers. The sample is representative of the adult population of Ukraine (18 years and older). The sample does not include territories that are temporarily not controlled by the authorities of Ukraine – the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. A total of 1,500 interviews were conducted during the survey. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 3%.
