Almost half of Ukrainians ready to support imposition of state of emergency
"The respondents’ opinions are divided on the possible imposition of the state of emergency in Ukraine: 49% would support such an initiative and 43% would oppose," say the results of the survey conducted by the Rating sociological group.
At the same time, 83% of respondents support a possible ban on mass events, strikes and rallies amid a state of emergency in the country; 71% - do not oppose the possible restriction on exit from and entry into certain cities and regions; 65% - support possible traffic restriction and inspections, 58% - support possible curfew in cities.
At the same time, the absolute majority (80%) oppose granting a right to the state to forcibly seize property from legal entities and individuals in the state of emergency. Only 14% support this measure.
As noted, 74% of respondents believe that people should be fined for violating quarantine, 19% of Ukrainians oppose such an initiative.
According to the survey results, 58% of Ukrainians commend the measures taken by the authorities to combat the coronavirus optimal. In addition, 28% of respondents say that the taken measures are too soft. Only 6% of Ukrainians believe that the measures are too rigid.
The survey was conducted in all the regions of Ukraine except the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas.
