Health Ministry: UAH 200 mln allocated for personal protective equipment
Deputy Health Minister - Chief State Sanitary Doctor of Ukraine Viktor Liashko said this at a briefing on March 27, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
"About UAH 200 million has been allocated for the purchase of personal protective equipment, reagents for laboratories, personal protective equipment for employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, and border guards," he said.
Liashko recalled that the export of personal protective equipment was banned to ensure, first of all, domestic needs. Also, according to him, personal protective equipment that arrived from China were distributed between the regions for the needs of emergency medical care teams. Ukraine expects to receive the next batch of humanitarian aid, including personal protective equipment.
He added that local authorities should also take measures to ensure the protection of health workers.
As of the morning of March 27, Ukraine had 218 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19, including five deaths. Four people recovered.
