Ukraine to represent projects at global conference in Silicon Valley

The Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation and Startup Grind Kyiv, with the support of USAID, have selected 15 winners of the competition Open Call Pitch Event to participate in a global conference in the United States.

Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation Oleksandr Bornyakov stated this at a briefing in Kyiv on December 19, according to a press release that has been made available to Ukrinform.

“We have chosen those who are making projects for the global world with a clear purpose, who can briefly and clearly present their business model that is worth investing. For the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the development of Ukraine as a powerful global it-center is the number one priority,” he said.

The winners will represent Ukraine at the10th global conference of entrepreneurs and investors Startup Grind Global 2020 in Silicon Valley.

Startups include a variety of projects: an electric bicycle, a drone that helps increase yields and reduce fertilizer use in the agricultural sector, an eco-friendly toothbrush and others.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Digital Transformation intends to create the Fund of funds that will support domestic startups.
