Since start of conflict, EU provided humanitarian aid worth over EUR 400 mln to Donbas
This is said in the EU statement on Russia’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which was released in Vienna during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council on Thursday, November 14, own Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"Since the beginning of the conflict, the EU and its member states have provided more than EUR 406 million in humanitarian aid to the region, of which 45%, EUR 182 million, has been sent to non-government-controlled areas," reads the statement.
It was pointed out that the International Committee of the Red Cross regularly sends humanitarian aid to temporarily occupied areas in Donbas.
Earlier, at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council, the EU delegation voiced concerns about a significant increase in the frequency of the so-called Russian “humanitarian convoys” to Donbas, which violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as basic international humanitarian principles.
