Riaboshapka dismisses four regional prosecutors

Ukraine's Prosecutor General Ruslan Riaboshapka has signed orders dismissing prosecutors of the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Odesa and Cherkasy regions, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) has reported.
"On Tuesday, September 3, 2019, being guided by the law of Ukraine on the prosecutor's office, Prosecutor General Ruslan Riaboshapka signed orders to dismiss prosecutors of the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Odesa and Cherkasy regions from their posts," the report reads.
The PGO recalled that at a meeting with representatives of the public in Cherkasy region, as part of a working visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the region, some participants in the meeting complained about the work of the regional prosecutor.
According to the PGO, while in Zhytomyr region, the Ukrainian president emphasized the improper work of regional prosecution bodies, in particular, in countering illegal amber mining.
