924 united territorial communities created in Ukraine
Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko stated this during a traditional hour of questions to the government, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"924 communities have been established as of July. At present they have an opportunity to work in a new management system. This means they have finances, resources, and an opportunity to develop their strategy and manage their future. A total of 70% of Ukrainians are already living in this system, in united territorial communities, cities of regional significance and regional centers,” said Zubko.
He stressed that the system, which was built in the course of the decentralization reform, envisages the provision of administrative and social services to citizens, as well as education and primary health care reforms.
According to Zubko, in general, 1,356 united territorial communities are expected to be established in Ukraine.
