Russia seen as aggressor by 65% of Ukrainians

Most Ukrainians see Russia an aggressor with regard to Ukraine, according to a survey conducted by the Rating group between May 29 and June 3, 2019.

The poll shows that 65% of respondents see Russia as an aggressor with regard to Ukraine, 27% hold the opposite opinion, and 9% could not answer.

Russia is considered an aggressor by 86% of respondents living in the western part of Ukraine, 36% in the eastern regions, 72% in the center, and 47% in the south.

At the same time, 38% of respondents support the cessation of hostilities in Donbas and the freezing of the conflict, whereas 22% want these territories to be granted an independent or federative status within Ukraine. Only 5% support the full secession of occupied lands. On the other hand, 18% support the continuation of hostilities until the Ukrainian authorities fully restore control over Donbas.

A total of 2,000 respondents aged over 18 years were polled during face-to-face interviews. The poll's margin of error does not exceed 2.2%.
