Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova held a meeting with Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Annika Weidemann.

"I asked to continue to put pressure of the European Union on the Russian Federation in order to comply with norms of international humanitarian law," Denisova wrote on Facebook on March 11.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the need for an urgent surgery to the 20-year-old political prisoner, Pavlo Hryb, who is held captive in Russia’s Rostov-on-Don.

Denisova also noted that she had sent a petition to Russian Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova regarding the need for an emergency surgery to Pavlo Hryb at a hospital, but she had not yet received a response.

During the meeting, they also talked about the need for rendering medical assistance to three wounded prisoners of war, in particular Vasyl Soroka, Andriy Eider and Andriy Artemenko.
