U.S. ambassador meets with activist Mykhailyk

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch met with activist Oleh Mykhailyk in Odesa on February 25, according to the Twitter account of the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv.
"My meeting with Oleh Mykhailyk was a sobering reminder of the challenges & threats faced by courageous Ukrainian civil society activists," Yovanovitch said.
According to her, civil society plays a crucial role in Ukrainian democracy.
The U.S. diplomat stressed that any threats and attacks against civil society "are unacceptable and must be promptly and thoroughly investigated."
An assassination attempt was made in Odesa on September 22, 2018, on a local public activist, head of the city branch of the Power of the People party, Oleh Mykhailyk.
