Hundreds of Ukrainian citizens have come to the Alley of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes in Kyiv to commemorate those killed during the Revolution of Dignity.

In particular, according to an Ukrinform correspondent, the events were attended by the wife of the Ukrainian president, Maryna Poroshenko, Culture Minister Yevhen Nyschuk, First Deputy Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv, as well as Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine Epiphanius.

People put flowers on the alley and prayed. Everyone can come here to honor the memory of Ukrainian heroes.

Ukraine marks the Day of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes every year on February 20, in accordance with a presidential decree of February 11, 2015 "On honoring the feat of participants in the Revolution of Dignity and commemorating the Heavenly Hundred Heroes."

In general, the revolutionary events of the winter of 2013-2014 took the lives of more than a hundred Maidan activists. In addition to Ukrainians, the victims of former President Viktor Yanukovych's regime included Belarusians, Armenians, and Georgians. All of them formed the Heavenly Hundred - the memorial to fighters for Ukraine's independence.
