In 2018, the number of child support debtors decreased by almost 100,000, Justice Minister Pavlo Petrenko wrote on Twitter.

"Good statistics: last year the number of alimony debtors decreased by almost 100,000. It is interesting that some fathers not only paid off all their debts, but also paid money in advance,” wrote Petrenko.

He also added that last year 555,000 Ukrainian children received child support assistance and stressed that these debts had not been paid off for years, sometimes even decades.

The minister also wrote that the sum of repaid debts total about UAH 4.6 billion, which is twice as much compared with the figures of 2017, when the program on collecting child support debts had not been launched.
