Ukrainian Film Week underway in Strasbourg

The Ukrainian Film Week “Focus on Ukraine” kicked off yesterday, November 22, in Strasbourg. The festival is dedicated to Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, who is unlawfully imprisoned in Russia.

"The Ukrainian Film Week is dedicated to Oleg Sentsov, who is imprisoned in Russia and in support of whom the global campaign is taking place," Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe Dmytro Kuleba stated at the opening of the event, an Ukrinform own correspondent in Strasbourg reports.

The drama film “Donbass,” which was screened the first, aroused lively interest and gathered a full house at the prestigious Cinema Odyssée.

The program of the Ukrainian Film Week also includes “When the Trees Fall” (drama; Ukraine, Poland, Macedonia), “Falling” (psychological drama; Ukraine), “Le Mythe” (documentary, Ukraine) and “Gateway” (mystic thriller; Ukraine, USA).

In addition, the special screening of “The Cyborgs” will be held at the Council of Europe on Friday.
