Candidates for Supreme and Anti-Corruption Courts take tests in Kyiv

A total of 566 candidates for judges of the Supreme Court and 270 candidates for judges of the High Anti-Corruption Court have simultaneously taken written tests in Kyiv, according to an Ukrinform correspondent. 

"Today, during the second competition to the Supreme Court, we will complete the formation of the highest judicial body," Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges Serhiy Kozyakov said.

The tests should determine the best applicants for the first and appellate instances of the High Anti-Corruption Court. In general, there are seven candidates for one position in the Supreme Court and the High Anti-Corruption Court. 

According to HQCJ Secretary Stanislav Shchotka, the professional level of the applicants to the High Anti-Corruption Court is quite high. In particular, 70 doctors of legal sciences take part in this competition. Among the candidates for the High Anti-Corruption Court, 50% are judges, 30% lawyers, 14% scholars, and 6% lawyers. Half of these candidates are between the ages of 30 and 39, and 30% of them are between the ages of 40 and 49.

After taking a written test, candidates for judges to the Supreme Court and the High Anti-Corruption Court will perform practical tasks on November 14. In general, according to forecasts, the results of the competitions to both courts will be announced on February 15-20, 2019.
