Poltava region joins nationwide project on development of inclusive education

President’s wife Maryna Poroshenko and Head of the Poltava Regional State Administration Valeriy Holovko have signed a memorandum on the region’s participation in the nationwide project of the Poroshenko Charity Foundation "Inclusive Education - Level of Consciousness of the Nation," the president’s press service reports.

Thus, Poltava region has already become the 23rd region of Ukraine, where this project is being implemented.

According to Maryna Poroshenko, “after the adoption of the Law of Ukraine on introducing inclusive education at all levels, there are 192 inclusive schools in the region, where 548 children with special needs study. Also, there are 29 inclusive kindergartens. 362 ‘special’ students study at vocational education institutions, 437 such students attend higher education institutions. Out-of-school education establishments in Poltava region successfully develop talents and abilities in 360 children with special needs.”
