Flu and acute respiratory infection rate growing in Kyiv

The flu and acute respiratory infection rate in the city of Kyiv has grown by 14.2% over the past week, according the Kyiv City State Administration.

“In the capital over the 43rd week of influenza season, 11,390 patients with flu and acute respiratory infections were registered (9,778 fall ill during the 42nd week), the sickness rate increased by 14.2% from the previous week. The incidence rates are 384.4 (330 over the 42nd week) and are 55.1% lower the epidemic threshold,” reads the report.

According to the Kyiv City State Administration, the increase in sickness rate was recorded among adults and children: 3,619 adults (an increase of 22.2%) and 8,120 children (an increase of 14.3%). A total of 89 people were hospitalized, including 81 children.
