Development of food industry a key to attracting investment - Poroshenko

This is stated in his greeting on the occasion of the Day of Food Industry Workers, which was marked on Sunday, October 21, according to the head of state's website.

"The dynamic development of the food industry is a key to improving the quality and expanding the range of domestic goods, increasing the share of products with high added value in the structure of exports, and implementing the investment potential of the industry," Poroshenko said.

He expressed confidence that the food industry would continue to contribute to the successful implementation of innovative technologies to meet the growing needs of consumers and ensure the country's food security.

The Day of Food Industry Workers is marked annually in Ukraine on the third Sunday of October.

The holiday was established in accordance with a decree of the Ukrainian president of August 8, 1995, No. 714/95, "in support of the initiative of food industry workers, as well as trade unions."
