Sentsov ends hunger strike - Ukrainian human rights commissioner

She noted that the process of ending the hunger strike is even more complicated and worse than the hunger strike itself. "I am deeply convinced that Russia does not provide him with proper medical care. I have demanded earlier that he be provided with highly qualified specialists, but the Kremlin has not done it," she said.

Denisova called on Russia "to preserve the life of the Ukrainian" and "to provide him with the best independent medical specialists who will conduct his full medical checkup."

"I want to see the conclusion about Oleg Sentsov's health. Only professional nutritionists have to work out a scheme for bringing him out of the hunger strike. We can bring these doctors from Ukraine or Europe. I demand that Russia speed up the process of granting me access to Oleg Sentsov. I have to personally make sure that nothing endangers his life. If necessary, I will come to the Labytnangi colony even today, "she said.

On May 14, Sentsov declared an indefinite hunger strike demanding the release of all Ukrainian political prisoners held in Russia.
