PACE Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies to hold conference in Kyiv

“At the invitation of the Ukrainian Parliament, the PACE Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies will organise a regional conference in Kyiv on 24 September, whose theme will be the role of diaspora associations, and their synergies with public authorities, as a platform for co-operation,” the PACE press service reports.

Participants will examine the co-operation of diasporas with public authorities: the role of national parliaments and the legal frameworks regulating the work of diasporas; government policies concerning diasporas and their implementation in co-operation with diaspora associations, and the co-operation of local authorities with diaspora associations.

The PACE Parliamentary Network on Diaspora Policies was established in 2017 to implement the recommendations of the Assembly on enhancing the role of representatives of diaspora associations and their interaction with national governments and parliaments.
