In the first half of 2018, the number of illegal migrants in Ukraine grew by 22% compared to corresponding period last year.

"In the first half of 2018, we saw an increase in the number of illegal migrants by 22%. It is not a critical figure, we are not a country-supplier of illegal migrants to the countries of the European Union, but it is already a tendency which should be discussed," Spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Oleh Slobodian said at the press conference, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He recalled that the State Border Guard Service forecasted a significant increase in the flow of illegal migrants to Ukraine as the rules of entry into European Union member states had been strengthened.
