Ukrainian community welcomes Canada's additional financial support to Ukraine

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) welcomes the allocation of additional financial support by the Government of Canada to Ukraine.

”We welcome the announcement by the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Canada’s Minister of International Development, that Canada is committed to provide up to $50 million annually in support of socio-economic programs across the country, building a strong and accountable democracy, and contributing to peace and security in Ukraine and the region as a whole,” First Vice President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Alexandra Chyczij stated, the UCC’s press service reported.

She added that the Ukrainian Canadian community would continue to work closely with the Canadian and Ukrainian governments to ensure peace and prosperity for the Ukrainian people.

Minister Bibeau made the announcement in Kyiv during her first visit to Ukraine, July 18-23. She is accompanied by Borys Wrzesnewskyj, (MP, Etobicoke-Centre), Chair of the Canada-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, and Alexandra Chyczij, First Vice President of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress.
