Ukrainian community in Brussels award wounded ATO servicemen

The Ukrainian community and diplomats in Brussels have thanked the Ukrainian servicemen, who suffered severe injuries in the area of anti-terrorist operation while defending Ukraine from the Russian aggression.

The award ceremony took place at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium, a Brussels-based Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Three Ukrainian soldiers, who now undergo rehabilitation in Brussels, received the awards from the NGO "Association of Patriots “Strong in spirit.”

"Today, Ukraine stands at the forefront in protecting the democratic values of Europe and the entire world from the Russian aggressor. We highly respect our soldiers," said Major-General Mykola Bulhakov, the military attaché of the Ukrainian Embassy in Belgium.

He thanked the Belgian government, in particular, the Ministry of Defense, for inviting three Ukrainian soldiers to undergo medical rehabilitation.

Colonel Vasyl Kovtun, one of the three Ukrainian soldiers, said that today every Ukrainian had their own front in opposing the Russian aggression.

"These are trenches on the contact line as well as the diplomatic front, where it is necessary to consolidate the international efforts in support of Ukraine," Colonel Kovtun said.
