Easter eggs festival kicks off on Sofiyska Square

The chairwoman of the standing committee on education, science, family, youth and sports at Kyiv City Council, Hanna Starostenko, stated this on Thursday, April 5, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The zest of the celebration is 374 Easter bunnies painted in individual style by Ukrainian artists, and we are very pleased that not only traditional pysankas, but also such interesting bunnies will be presented this year. They have already become the symbol of Easter holidays in the world. I hope that this tradition will also be rooted in our country," Starostenko said.

She noted that two million tourists visited Kyiv during Easter holidays and pysanka festivals last year.
