In 2017, a number of Indian tourists in Ukraine increased by 33% due to the simplification of the visa regime for Indian citizens.

Ambassador of India to Ukraine Manoj Kumar Bharti stated this at a press conference on Tuesday, March 27, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"According to the State Border Service of Ukraine, the number of Indian tourists in Ukraine amounted to 19,500 in 2016. In April 2017, the Government of Ukraine included India into the list of countries whose citizens may obtain a visa on arrival. As a result, the number of Indian tourists who visited Ukraine in 2017 increased to 29,400. That is, we achieved an increase of 33% over a year," the ambassador said.

He added that the State Border Service of Ukraine informed that 4, 300 tourists had already arrived in Ukraine from India this year.
