Poroshenko: Words of Taras Shevchenko continue to be pillar of support and inspiration in our struggle

President Petro Poroshenko believes that the work of Taras Shevchenko continues to support and inspire people in the struggle for free Ukraine.
The head of state wrote this on his Facebook page on the occasion of the 204th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth.
"The personality of Taras Shevchenko has united Ukrainians at all times. He, surprisingly, remains always modern," Poroshenko noted.
According to him, Shevchenko's testament became the guidebook of Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity.
"His image appeared on the banners and shields of Ukrainian youth. His word still continues to be a pillar of support and inspiration in our struggle – Keep fighting, you are bound to win! God helps you in your fight…" the President stressed.
As reported, on March 9, Ukraine and the world celebrate the 204th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko, poet, painter and humanist.
