The annual Days of Ukrainian Cinema in Brussels ended with action in support of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who was unlawfully imprisoned in Russia.

Representatives of the Ukrainian community in Belgium, friends of Ukraine, diplomats, MEP Rebecca Harms took part in the symbolic flash mob, a Brussels-based Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The action took place after the screening of the documentary “The Trial: The State of Russia vs Oleg Sentsov” about the trial of Ukrainian director sentenced by the Russian Federation to 20 years in prison on trumped-up charges.

"This film tells about the trial of not only Oleg Sentsov, but the whole of Ukraine," said Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Belgium Mykola Tochytsky.

According to friend of Ukraine, MEP Rebecca Harms, it is extremely important that the world community does not forget about Putin's political prisoners.

Sister of Sentsov, Natalia Kaplan, recalled that he had been imprisoned in Russia for already four years. In particular, now the filmmaker serves a sentence in the maximum security penal colony in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District in northern Russia.
