Minister of Education, Culture and Research of Moldova Monica Babuc hopes that the rights of national minorities will be respected during the implementation of a new Ukrainian law on education.

The press service of the Moldovan Ministry reported this after a meeting of Monica Babuc with Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Hrynevych in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reported from Moldova.

"We agreed to create a joint Moldovan-Ukrainian working group that will conduct a detailed analysis of the situation and develop a plan of measures to ensure the protection of the rights of national minorities while implementing the law on education, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," the report said.

Hrynevych notes that the Ukrainian authorities are open to a dialogue and constructive cooperation with the involvement of specialists from Ukraine and Moldova during the implementation of the law, and the Ukrainian side undertakes to observe the rights of national minorities to study in their native language.
