Maryna Poroshenko, Brigitte Macron agree on cooperation in development of inclusive learning environment

"Maryna and Brigitte have agreed on cooperation between Ukraine and France in the development of inclusive learning environment," President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.

According to the President, the first ladies noted that inclusive education was one of the key factors shaping the 21st century as the era of tolerance and equality. "Teaching children with special educational needs in a common school alongside their peers is a necessity that is well understood in Europe and the entire world," the Head of State stated.

On July 5, President Petro Poroshenko signed the law on amendments to the law of Ukraine on education regarding the access to educational services for persons with special educational needs, which the Verkhovna Rada adopted on May 23. This law, in particular, secures the right to education for persons with special educational needs and gives such people an opportunity for receiving education in all the educational institutions, including free of charge in state and municipal educational institutions, regardless of the " disablement diagnosis."
