Mykhailo Peresunko, the executive director of the Kyiv Press Club said this while presenting the results of the public opinion poll at the Ukrinform news agency on Tuesday.
"About one-third of Ukrainians have specific plans to make advantage of the visa-free regime with the EU in the near future and to file the needed documents to be issued a biometric passport that will give the opportunity to travel. Another one-third of Ukrainians have the same plans but they are not specific in time," Peresunko said.
At the same time, as noted, 39% of respondents said they did not plan to get a biometric passport, while 26.9% of Ukrainians plan to get a passport some time or other.
Peresunko stressed that 11% of respondents, "or about every 10th Ukrainian citizen plans to get a biometric passport by the end of the year, and every 10th respondent has already been issued the document."
