The fifth mission of Canadian doctors has arrived in Ukraine to help those injured during the Euromaidan protests and fighting in the east of the country.

Acting Health Minister of Ukraine Ulana Suprun posted this on her Facebook page.

"Doctors from across Canada come on a volunteer basis, so a team of 20 volunteers, including surgeons, nurses, anesthesiologists, and physiotherapists, will work in Ukraine this year. Six medical specialists from the U.S. Army have joined the mission. All of them will work together with the Ukrainian colleagues of the Kyiv Central Military Hospital and share the experience with our doctors," Suprun wrote.

According to her, the Canadian doctors have already examined 80 patients. The surgeries will start this week.

The mission will carry out reconstructive surgery of the face and upper extremities, to engage in the elimination of post-traumatic craniofacial deformities, soft tissue defects and scars.
