The press service of the State Agency of Ukraine for Managing the Exclusion Zone said this after the meeting between the head of the agency, Vitaliy Petruk, with the creative team of the project.
"The State Agency of Ukraine for Managing the Exclusion Zone has supported the initiative of the Polish Farm 51, which developed the project, the Chornobyl VR Project," the world's first virtual tour of Chornobyl and Prypyat. The initiators plan to open the virtual reality museum in the zone in November," the statement says.
The idea of the project is to use 3D-technology so people can take a virtual journey through the facilities that are located in the exclusion zone. In particular, during the familiarization visit those wishing to do so will be able to "visit" the Chornobyl nuclear power plant, abandoned apartment buildings, the amusement park all located in Prypyat, which became a ghost town back in 1986 after the Chornobyl disaster.
