Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said this during a ceremony of opening a new kindergarten in the city of Dnipro, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“A record number of kindergartens are being built this year,” President Poroshenko said.
According to him, the kindergarten network in Ukraine consists of almost 15 thousand establishments attended by more than 1.3 million children.
President Poroshenko at the opening ceremony also said that the new kindergarten is a symbol of decentralization as no funds from the national budget was used for its construction.
“Local communities do not ask for a Kyiv’s permission anymore, but they earn money themselves and rule their land themselves,” President Poroshenko said, and added that decentralization reform allows local communities to adopt decisions on the allocation of local budget funds.
