Russian fake: Serviceman lashed out at child in Lviv school

Russian propaganda created its own scenario of an incident to discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Recently, a number of z-Telegram channels have spread a post about an incident between a military serviceman and a pupil, which allegedly took place in one of Lviv's schools. Major S. Poprotskyi from the 103rd Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine apparently came to the institution to give pupils a "Heroes' Hour" agitation lesson. At the end of the lesson, one of the pupils allegedly refused to respond to the slogan "Glory to Ukraine", for what he was punished. The post says that the soldier lashed out at the child and began to strangle him. The authors of the Telegram channel illustrated this news with a screenshot of video footage of the incident.

This is a fake. As it turned out, the Russians created their own version of the incident that took place in early November in Ukraine. Using Google's reverse image search, we managed to find a story from the morning show "Breakfast with 1+1" with a full video of the incident, which describes the incident in detail. The Ukrainian military had nothing to do with it, as the dispute was between a history teacher and pupils.

In addition, the incident took place in Truskavets, not Lviv. It is known that the conflict has been resolved. The school principal assured journalists that the teacher had apologized to the children and parents, and they had no complaints against him.

Inventing own versions of events related to Ukraine is one of the tools of Russian propaganda in creating fakes. Ukrinform has already refuted a fake about the operation of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense in Nova Kakhovka.
