Emergency Service: 49 people saved, 1,347 fires extinguished during last week

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine saved 49 people and extinguished 1,347 fires during the last week, from November 25 to December 1.
It is noted that 1, 638 accidents were registered. The units of the State Emergency Service responded to all accidents.
“As a result of these interventions, 49 people were saved, 1,347 fires were extinguished. Also, fires were prevented from spreading to 609 buildings, 42 people were saved and 59 units of equipment were salvaged,” reads the report posted on the website of the State Emergency Service.
At the same time, 67 persons died from fires. According to the latest data, estimated losses make up about UAH 4.794 million.
In addition, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service detected and disposed 1, 099 explosive devices during last week.
Also, the Emergency Service reported that 19 persons died in waterways during the past week.
